摘要(Abstract)：

16—18世纪,耶稣会士撰写的"中国印本"成为英人了解中国的主要信息来源。不少英国学人基于不同立场开始关注中文化,其中既有哈克卢特、伯顿、韦伯、坦普尔等人持崇华观点,也有诺尔克斯、洛基尔、沃顿、笛福等人发表抑华观点。双方从各自的政治立场和宗教信仰出发,表达了对中国文化的兴趣和关注。作为当时具有社会影响力的学者,他们的对华态度也反映出明清时期英国社会的中国观。
